The whole process is designed to be\u00a0<strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"571\">as simple as possible and did not require any modifications<\/strong>\u00a0headlights.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Projector replacement procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>1. Preparation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"647\">Make sure you have a complete set.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"647\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Read the instructions carefully<\/strong> for a smooth process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">Prepare your basic tools \u2014 you\u2019ll need a Torx, a Phillips screwdriver, and a socket set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>2. Removing the rear headlight cover<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Release the rear cover by unclipping its mounting from the side.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>3. Removal of the projector<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Disconnect the cable leading from the igniter to the xenon bulb by turning it counterclockwise.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Using a Torx screwdriver, loosen and remove the three screws securing the projector inside the headlight. Then carefully remove the projector.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>4. Removal of the Xenon Bulb<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove the xenon bulb by turning it counterclockwise.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; color: #1c1c1a;\">5. Projector and bulb installation<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<article dir=\"auto\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-turn-id=\"request-68f0f032-60f4-8322-8927-c1b8359fa247-5\" data-testid=\"conversation-turn-28\" data-scroll-anchor=\"true\" data-turn=\"assistant\">\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"77\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Insert the xenon bulb into the new projector and place the red rubber O-ring onto it.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-5-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<article dir=\"auto\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-turn-id=\"request-68f0f032-60f4-8322-8927-c1b8359fa247-6\" data-testid=\"conversation-turn-30\" data-scroll-anchor=\"true\" data-turn=\"assistant\">\n<ul>\n<li>Then secure the xenon bulb with the retaining nut.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-6-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"96\">For extra security, you can use a second nut as a locknut.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-7-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"96\">Prepare the mounting adapter in the following configuration. Make sure all components are properly aligned and securely fastened so the adapter can be easily installed into the headlight. The mounting adapter must be installed in a mirrored orientation depending on the side of the headlight.\n<p><em>Note: The photos were taken with an older version of the adapter. The kit now includes a metal adapter.<\/em><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-10-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-09-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"96\">Insert the projector with the mounted adapter back into the headlight. Make sure it sits correctly in place and that all mounting points align precisely. Then securely fasten the projector using the original screws so that it remains stable and doesn\u2019t move when handling the headlight. I recommend checking that the projector is positioned straight \u2014 proper alignment has a crucial impact on the final light pattern after headlight adjustment.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-07-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>6. Wiring<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that the wiring from the package is connected to the projector.<\/li>\n<li>Shorten the wires so they can be easily connected to the original high beam wiring without being unnecessarily long.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the wires from the projector to the original high beam wiring:\n<ul>\n<li>Connect one cable to the\u00a0<strong>brown wire<\/strong>, the other on\u00a0<strong>yellow wire<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Polarity doesn't matter, so you can connect the projector wires in either order.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-tt-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Then reconnect the cable leading from the igniter to the xenon bulb in the reverse order.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Audi-TT-prestavba-05-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>After completing the wiring, reinstall and secure the rear headlight cover to ensure proper sealing and protection against moisture and dust.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Done!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Now all that's left is to reinstall the headlights on the car and have them properly aligned \u2014 this is done using the original adjustment points on the headlight units.<\/p>\n<p>The result is significantly improved visibility while driving, without dazzling other drivers.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to do the retrofit yourself, you can find the complete Plug &amp; Play kit here: <a href=\"https:\/\/retrofitguru.com\/en\/product\/audi-tt-mk1-98-06-bi-xenon-set\/\"><strong>Bi-xenon kit for Audi TT mk1 \u2013 RetrofitGuru.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to worry about the installation \u2013 each kit comes with a detailed guide and technical support.
