The whole process is designed to be\u00a0<strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"571\">as simple as possible and did not require any modifications<\/strong>\u00a0headlights.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Projector replacement procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>1. Preparation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"647\">Check that you have a complete and correct kit for your headlights.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"647\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Read the instructions carefully<\/strong> for a smooth process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"647\">Prepare your basic tools \u2014 you\u2019ll need a Torx, a Phillips screwdriver, and a socket set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>2. Removing the rear headlight cover<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove the two Torx T20 fixing screws.<\/li>\n<li>Unclip the rear cover and then slide it out of the holder.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-8-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the ballast connector and remove the rear headlight cover.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-7-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>3. Bulb removal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Disconnect the connector from the bulb, release the clip and carefully pull the bulb out. Take care not to touch the glass of the bulb.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-6-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>4. Removal of the projector<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<article dir=\"auto\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-turn-id=\"request-WEB:23de349d-2923-4d31-a9d1-89e0ed09d7a5-5\" data-testid=\"conversation-turn-10\" data-scroll-anchor=\"true\" data-turn=\"assistant\">\n<p data-start=\"61\" data-end=\"244\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Use a Torx T20 screwdriver to loosen and remove the four mounting screws that hold the projector in the headlight.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-5-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>This is what it looks like after years of use. As you can see in the photo, the reflective surface of the original projector is completely burnt and dull. Because of this, the reflector can no longer reflect light onto the road.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-10-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; color: #1c1c1a;\">5. P\u0159ed dota\u017een\u00edm si rad\u011bji dvakr\u00e1t ov\u011b\u0159te, \u017ee m\u00e1te spr\u00e1vnou stranu.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-12-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-15-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Put the adapter in place and screw it firmly to the headlight housing with the original Torx screws.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-4-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"193\">Slide the washers from the kit onto the new mounting screws. This step matters for even pressure and a stable projector position.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-3-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Now place the projector in the adapter and secure it with the new nuts from the kit. Tighten the nuts carefully but firmly so the optics sit perfectly fixed in the headlight.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-13-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>After tightening the projector, look from the front and <strong>check that it is centred<\/strong> against the chrome shroud of the headlight. Perfect alignment confirms that the projector sits correctly in the adapter.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-9-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Now connect the solenoid control cable to the original high beam wiring. Polarity does not matter here: just connect one wire to plus and the other to minus. The kit includes quick splice connectors for easy fitting, but if you want a fully professional joint, we recommend crimping the wires together.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-16.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-16-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Now fit the bulb into its holder. Make sure the guide tabs are centred, then click the holder firmly into place until you feel clear resistance (see the detailed photos below). <br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-17-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Now insert the bulb into the projector and lock it by turning it clockwise. You should feel a gentle stop that confirms the bulb is seated firmly and correctly.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retrofitguru.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A4-B6-rebuild-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Finally, connect the high-voltage cable to the bulb socket and plug the main connector into the ballast on the rear cover. Refit the cover and secure it carefully in the reverse order of removal.
