Frequently asked questions

Choosing a kit, fitting, light on the road, covers and ordering. If you do not find your answer, write to us.

Choosing and compatibility

Does the kit fit my headlights?

Each kit is designed for one specific model and only for original xenon headlights. Do you have aftermarket headlights, such as Depo? Write to us before you order. The surest way is to send a photo of the headlight, and we will confirm whether the kit fits.

I have halogen headlights. Can I use the kit?

Each kit always lists which headlights it fits. All our kits are for headlights with a factory projector lens. We can convert halogen headlights to bi-LED, and xenon headlights to bi-xenon or bi-LED.

What is the difference between xenon and bi-xenon?

Xenon headlights use the bulb for the low beam only; the high beam is a separate halogen bulb. Bi-xenon uses one bulb for both. A solenoid-driven shield switches between the low and high beams. With our kits, the original halogen high beam stays too, so both sources shine on the high beam.

You don't have a kit for my car. Will you make one?

Tell us what car you have. We note every request and choose what to work on next by demand.

Do I need new bulbs?

No. The projectors take the same bulb base as your original headlights, so you reuse the bulbs you have. New bulbs are brighter, but originals in good condition are fine.

Fitting

Is fitting difficult?

No. The kits are designed to be Plug & Play. With most kits, the lenses stay sealed, and you do everything from the back of the headlight. Every kit comes with a complete video guide or a written guide with photos, so even a less experienced person can manage.

How long does fitting take?

Not counting removing and refitting the headlights, converting both takes one to two hours.

What tools will I need?

For the Octavia 1, for example, a Torx T20, a Phillips screwdriver, a small socket set with a 7 mm socket and pliers are enough. The exact step-by-step procedure is in our blog guide. Usually, a regular socket set with Torx bits is all you need.

What is in the box?

Two bi-xenon projectors, cables for the solenoids, shields and bulb holders, two adapters and the screws, spacers, washers and nuts you need. Simply everything you need for the retrofit.

Do I have to aim the headlights after fitting?

Yes. For correct lighting and to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers, we recommend having the headlights aimed on a beam setter after fitting. Aiming uses the original adjusters in the headlights.

Light and road use

Do the kits dazzle other drivers?

No. The shield in the projector creates a sharp cut-off and the light points down onto the road; nothing shines above the cut-off. The shield is laser-cut, so the cut-off is sharp. The headlights must be aimed correctly and the covers must be in good condition.

Will automatic leveling still work?

Yes. The original aiming and automatic leveling stay.

How much better does the kit shine?

Take the Octavia 1 as an example: from 3.5 m we measured 620 lx with the original projector. With our kit it was 5,795 lx on low beam and 6,746 lx on high beam. Measured with the same bulb and ballast; only the projectors make the difference. We compare against typically worn projectors, so the difference is really noticeable, unlike just replacing the bulb.

Why do my original xenons shine so weakly?

Most often the chrome layer of the reflector has burnt off, so the light has nothing to bounce off. Yellowed headlight covers or an old bulb also play a part.

Can I drive on the road with the kit?

The kit is not intended for use on public roads.

Headlight covers

Do the covers fit my headlight?

The covers match the originals 1:1. Each product lists the headlight OEM codes it fits. If your headlight code isn't on the list, it doesn't necessarily mean the covers will not fit. Write to us and we will check.

How hard is it to replace a cover?

It depends on the adhesive that bonds the cover to the rest of the headlight. Most headlights use butyl or permanent adhesive. A headlight with butyl adhesive opens easily with a heat gun or in an oven.

What should I use to reseal the cover?

For most cars, we recommend our butyl sealant. It is easy to work with, and you can open the headlight again if needed.

Can you replace the covers for me?

Yes, by arrangement. For a quote, send us an e-mail or contact us on social media.

Is it worth buying a pair?

Usually yes, a pair costs less than two singles.
